Another classic Florida summer week is ahead! Expect hot and humid conditions with temperatures in the low 90s and scattered afternoon thunderstorms throughout the week. If you’re heading out, mornings and early afternoons will generally be your best bet for outdoor activities. Don’t forget the sunscreen, stay hydrated, and keep that umbrella nearby!
Tampa Bay continues to grow, bringing new restaurants, entertainment venues, and shopping experiences to the region. Whether you’re looking for your next dining destination, a weekend outing, or simply want to stay informed on what’s happening around town, here are a few notable openings and developments making headlines this week in the Bay!
🍱 O-Ku | South Tampa
Modern Japanese cuisine has arrived in South Tampa! O-Ku is now open at Bayshore Gardens, bringing elevated sushi and Japanese dishes to the neighborhood, including seafood sourced from Tokyo’s renowned Toyosu Market.
👕 Engrained Lifestyle Apparel | Downtown Tampa
Tampa-born brand Engrained Lifestyle Apparel, inspired by the city’s culture and community, is opening its first storefront at Sparkman Wharf. It’s a great example of a local brand expanding its presence while keeping Tampa at the heart of its identity.
🏙️ ClearView at Echelon City Center | St. Petersburg
A major new residential development is taking shape in downtown St. Petersburg. ClearView at Echelon City Center has begun leasing 363 luxury apartments at 101 Main St. N. The community is part of the larger Echelon City Center, a 20.5-acre mixed-use development planned to include residential, retail, office, and hotel space.

Every weekend through September 7 | Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
Beer lovers and Busch Gardens fans can enjoy the park’s annual Bier Fest Brew throughout the summer. Expect a selection of craft beers, seasonal food offerings, live entertainment, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the park’s rides and attractions.
Throughout August | Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a summer celebration at Busch Gardens. Guests can enjoy patriotic entertainment, special food and merchandise, thrilling rides, and nighttime entertainment, including the Wild Skies drone and fireworks show on select nights.
Friday, August 14 | Hotel Haya
Celebrate four years of ¡SAMBA! with an evening filled with Latin-inspired energy, music, dancing, and good vibes at Hotel Haya. It’s a great opportunity to experience one of Tampa’s vibrant cultural celebrations while enjoying the atmosphere of Ybor City.
August 14–16 | Benchmark International Arena
Get ready for an action-packed weekend as Monster Jam Freestyle Mania rolls into Tampa! Watch Monster Jam trucks and freestyle motocross riders team up for gravity-defying stunts, jumps, and high-energy competition. Family-friendly and definitely one for the adrenaline seekers!
August 15–16 | Florida State Fairgrounds
Fitness enthusiasts, athletes, and families can experience FitFest, a large-scale sports festival and fitness expo featuring competitions, vendors, wellness experiences, and more. The event also includes the Tampa Bay Games, featuring athletes competing across multiple fitness divisions.
Saturday, August 15 | Armature Works
Car enthusiasts, this one is for you! Rides by the River brings hundreds of unique vehicles—from classics and muscle cars to exotics and custom builds—to the waterfront at Armature Works. The event is free, open to all ages, and requires no RSVP for spectators.
Saturday, August 15 | Steamy Lit
Combine movement and a little reading time with Pilates & Paperbacks. This unique event is perfect for book lovers who want to get active, connect with fellow readers, and enjoy a fun community experience.
Sunday, August 16 | Yuengling Draft Haus & Kitchen
Bring the whole family out for a relaxed afternoon of music, face painting, and outdoor fun. Yuengling’s monthly Family Day is designed for all ages and is a great way to enjoy some quality family time.
Tuesday, August 18 | Shuffle
Spend your Tuesday celebrating hip-hop culture at Shuffle in Tampa Heights. Expect music, community, and a fun local atmosphere—perfect for anyone looking to break up the workweek with something different.
August 20–21 | Milly’s
Mix fashion, drinks, and a night out at Sip & Style. This event is a great opportunity to discover local style, socialize, and enjoy an evening with friends in a fun and fashionable setting.
